Example: I have a 2006 vehicle. I can not make the payments and I want to sell it. Can I put it on ebay for $100 a ticket, and sell 200 tickets, and then the winner gets the car?

I am organizing a raffle, we are trying to figure out what to raffle off. We have $250 to work with. My thought was to get a nice grill (I found a $400 grill on sale for $250), but some people think it would be better to get a gift certificate for $250 to some store.
Now, I think, yes, a gift certificate is a nice idea, but contests don’t give away gift certificates. You don’t see “Win a gift certificate to this auto dealer” you see “win a CAR!”. Why? I think because an ITEM is tangible & exciting, and really seems like alot more than a gift certificate.
The idea is to sell as many tickets as we can.
What are your thoughts?

Okey recently I was walking in the mall. Then as I walk I saw a car and I entered in the raffle to win the car. And now they said I won the raffle but I had a choice either vegas or theme parks, I know someone else won the car, but is this a scam. They told me to just bring an ID and claim my prize. Please tell me I don’t really wan’t to miss this oppourtinity.

I heard about someone doing it. I live in Georgia and I am not sure if it is legal. I know that non-profits can do it but would my education be considered as such because it is for me? Could a donate a percent to a charitable donation??
This would really help me out. I would like to sell the ticket for around $100 apiece. Do you think anyone would be willing to buy?

Companies and organizations sometimes put on promotions like raffles in which they give away car. I would love to win a car. Does anyone know about anything locally (Bergen County, New Jersey) or on the internet that I can enter to win a car?

i wanted to do a raffle drawing to raise money for a friend who will be boxing in a match on another island. he isnt in a club and they just train back yard style but he will need to pay for air fare, car, hotel and other fees. can we do a raffle? and i would be donating the prizes from my smal business and i wanted to know how would i do that when it comes time for paying my taxes and doing paper work?
