2. For raffles and games of chance you will need to fill out a small games of chance permit with your local county.

well it kinda just depends on where your going to do the fundraiser.
if theres kids and teenagers stick with the food its a sure win
adults, go with the raffle
and if its on a weekend do the car wash[[but id make that my third choice]]
make sure you let people know about it
promote it for like 2 weeks if not more

candy or bake sale is probably best, because with a car wash, it’s weather pending. You can also do a community garage sale in your neighbourhood and all proceeds go fundraising.

What advice tips do you want?????? Go do a car wash (you need people with free time… soap, water, signs with people holding them etc etc, get some baked goods and sell them… etc…it’s not that difficult….

I’ve found that bake sales work out well. Heck who doesn’t appreciate some sweets you know? Raffles, I find, people tend to lean away from them because they feel like they don’t have a chance in heck to win. As for car washes, there are so many of them, that even I just drive by.

we did a fund raiser for our VFD called the Ambulance chasing attorney run. we had alot of attorneys agree to participate and they all ran behind on of our ambulances waving legal pads we raised alot of money that way

Get commitees to work on different parts. Get sign up sheets going around the school or community or what ever your doing it for. Recruit family members. If your doing a bake sell, get a commitee to plan whose going to bake what, get a commitee to decorate tables and packages of baked goods and get a committe to do anything else that comes up. With a raffle ask local businesses to donate objects that could be raffled off. With a car wash make sure you have plenty of supplies, you could ask for donations, make sure you have a large enough space to do it, and check the weather to make sure its not going to rain the day that you plan to do it. Oh and get plenty of people to volunteer…

well my school band has never had any luck with carwashes and cany bars ect.. but the things that have brought in lots of money is a walk a thon where people give you money so the can go and run ( walk,skipdosen’t matter) and spagetti dinners so people can get a meal and support a cause!

I would have answered earlier but this is the first time i’ve seen your question! I’ve always done bake sales for fundraising and we’ve always sold everything. People always want food
I dont know where you’re doing your fundraiser but we did ours in school. Make sure you have napkins/plastic cutlery/paper plates. Balloons and banners wouldnt hurt. Make a sign with all the prices and do like 5 for the price of 4 deals or something like that. Make posters before the fundraiser as well. Good luck!

From my experience with Youth Sports teams, Boy Scouts, etc. the simplest and most profitable is a bake sale – if you have a good location. Car washes are OK if you have facilities where you can do 2 or 3 cars at a time. Otherwise, you have fewer “customers” per hour and less income per hour. Raffles can be very productive, but only if the prize is something that most people would want. There is an organization in our town that raffles off an ATV every year. Maybe 30% of the folks in town would like an ATV, at best, so why would the other 70% buy a ticket?

I’m not sure what you’re asking but if you wanna do a fundraiser, you must get organized! That is 60% of the work. Let’s take each one….
With a raffle, you must find a couple of prizes. You can have those donated by people or businesses. Then get some tickets printed and start selling them. Then you pick the winning ticket.
With a car wash, you get some volunteers to wash the cars and advertise by fliers or something. Then wash the cars and collect the money.
With a candy or bake sale, get the people to donate the food. After you advertise it by fliers or whatever, sell it and collect the money.

When I was in school if we wanted to have a car wash we went to the location where we wanted a week or so before and got permission from the business owner….and they are going to want to see all your information so make sure that you are very detailed and are well spoken…..then if permission was granted we set up like an hour early and had the event with the designated time worked out beforehand with the business owner.
For Bake Sales – It’s best to have one at a grocery store and make sur that all items are prepackaged and neat or they won’t sell. Also make sure that you get permission from the store manager. Oh and make sure that everyone has a nice appearance.

I have a lot of experience doing all sorts of fundraising and would be happy to share some tips and advice. But you haven’t give a shred of information that would help me know what kind of fundraising you want to do. Try adding details: What’s it for? Who is doing the fundraising? Where are you located (small town, city, rural)? What resources to you have (what people are available to help: kids? adults? parents? teachers? coaches? Do you have a location for fundraising activities, like a school or church?). What’s your timeframe? When does it have to be done? What’s your monetary goal? Any other goals? All of that would affect the advice I’d give.

let’s see, fundraising tips: get organized, deligate, get a cash box and have plenty of change on hand. And, remember to remind ppl that if they don’t want to but your services they are more than welcome to just make a cash donation!
raffle: offer “bonuses” and “a stretch” – that’s when, in addition to a dollar a ticket, you offer 7 tickets for $5, or 15 tickets for $10, or $20 for a stretch. (a stretch is when: a person hands you twenty dollars, you then ask them to stretch their arms out (like on the cross) and you stretch the roll from their right finger tip to their left finger tip and give them all the tickets from one tip to the other tip. who wouldn’t go for that deal, right?!
a car wash – I’d skip it, but hey just don’t forget to bring lots of teenagers and all of your supplies: buckets, soap, rags/sponges, towels, cash box and change.
candy and bake sale: keep the food as fresh as possible, wrapped, and offer a veriety! (cookies, pies, cakes, candies, hot dogs, and drinks.)
