Need some fund raising suggestions for expensive trip…?
I’m currently half way through Year 10 at school. In the summer holidays after I have finished Year 11 we have a 4 week school trip to Kenya. It will compromise of volunteer work, wildlife conservation, a safari and scuba-diving. This is a once ina lifetime opportunity and will look great on my CV however, in total the trip cost £3450 and is to be made in three payments of £1150. I have several ideas including:
-Selling sweets, chocolate and pop at school
-Car boots
-Washing peoples cars
-Raffles
I feel this is a great start however I need some more ideas, thanks in advance.

Yeah you have made a good start. You could ask family, siblings and really close friends if they could give you some money.
but heres what i would try. Ask if you could set up a school talent show for all years at your school. Any talent and you could have auditions on monday. Then throughout the week at break or lunches have like semi finals and finals and stuff. Something like £1-£2 to audition and £1 to watch the perfomances. Use the school sports hall or drama studio. Get help from friends and staff.
We do this at my school every year on the week before christmas hols to rais money for the school. Its a big success and especially cos we have around 1300 students we get quite a bit of money.
You could even ask to set up a sport evening or other groups and clubs at your school.
Well its up to you but i hope ive given you some ideas.

I am excited for you Kenya is a great country. I spent 2 weeks there last year and will probably go again this summer! The trip is expensive but very well worth it. As far as fund raising your best asset is the internet. You should make some blogs. You can use blogger and word press to start. They are both free blogs and a great way to inform people of your trip. I would make daily entries to your blog giving updates of the progress of your fund raisers. You can submit these blogs to social bookmarking sites and start getting free traffic to them. A great resource for bookmarking is only wire. Also you can place an ad on Craigslist for free to inform people of your trip. Be sure to explain exactly what this is about and the great benefit it will be to you. People will want to respond. Also, with all your other fund raising be sure to include the URL to your blog. Continue to give updates and send emails of thank you to all that donate and your sure to get to your goal. Also, breakdown the amount you need into weeks and set weekly goals for yourself. This will help keep you on track and will help encourage you to keep going. Have fun In Kenya. I hope it all works out for you.
