Trip to Flordia or Las Vagas, won in raffle real?
Ok, so my brother-in-law “won” this raffle he says in a drawing that had at the mall. I dont know the details yet but he says it’s to Flordia or Las Vagas. You have to pay 500 bucks but hen your hotel and a rental car are free. I think you even have to pay for your own plane ticket. So far doesn’t sound like a great deal to me, let alone free. He doesn’t have the money to go so he offered it to me and my husband. I was talking to someone at work and they think that maybe it’s one of those time share things. IDK yet, I have to get the details still. Anyone know anthing about something like this or about those time share deals. It doesn’t seem right to me, but like I said I haven’t looked at the details yet. If it’s legite I would love to go (me and my husband of 5 years still need a honeymoon). Any info would be appreciated.

Sometimes organizations looking for investors (usually land deals, but could be almost anything) will offer some travel-related perks – like a free hotel room and a dinner, maybe. But they don’t usually call those things “raffles.” And other, more legitimate organizations, don’t usually conduct raffles at malls. And if it’s pretty much as you describe it, it sure is not a raffle prize and is only a meager benefits package for a promotion. But if you don’t get travel costs paid-for then what the heck in the $500 bucks going for. Sounds like a scam to me.

If it sounds like a timeshare and quarks like a timeshare, it is TIMESHARE. That does not sound like a deal to me at all if you have to pay $500 and still have to pay for your flight. You can get a nice hotel room for 4 days in Vegas for $200 and you don’t need a rental car in Las Vegas because everything is within walking distance.
Just trash the offer and go on with your life.

What a rip off. I would report it to your SAG. To win something and have to pay $500 to get it is not right. Besides, for $500 you can get an entire vacation package which includes air, hotel and rental car for that price. Sounds like the only winner here is the guy collecting the $500. What a crook.
