Will Jeep offer a diesel Cherokee model in 2007 in the US?
Sustainable Sam asked:
Last year Jeep
announced they would offer a diesel Cherokee in the second quarter of 2007. I’ve been holding off on buying a car to see if this would happen, but haven’t seen anything to really confirm this. Has there been any marketing or official announcement to confirm that Jeep dealers will be selling diesel Cherokees?

Yep that’s the plan, but who knows now with GM wanting/planning on buying Chrysler. See…if GM buys Chrysler, Chrysler is no longer partnered with Benz. Benz is where Jeep would be getting that diesel from for its Grand Cherokee.
Its already in use in Europe….of course.
FYI…..China still makes the good old Cherokee! Its a 2.4 ltr Diesel! I’d love to get my hands on one of those!

They don’t make Cherokee’s in the United States anymore. If you are talking about a Grand Cherokee you should be flogged. jk’ing A Cherokee is not a Grand Cherokee and a Grand Cherokee is not a Cherokee. They have stated that they were going to offer a 3.0 diesel GC in 2007 but I do not think I’ve heard a release date.

Grand Cherokee yes, Cherokee no. There is a diesel Cherokee in China and that is about it. The Jeep Liberty in the states is the Cherokee in Europe and UK and has a diesel option.
