Winter Haven Hospital sponsoring Big Bass Bash
The Winter Haven Hospital Foundation is again sponsoring the Big Bass Bash which will be held out of Lake Shipp Park on Feb. 26. The event will start at safe daylight with weigh-in being at 1 p.m. Since it’s inception, this event has raised over $ 30,000 for the mothers and infants served by Winter Haven Hospitals Regency Center for Women and Infants Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Anaconda police have released the name of a couple that died in a murder-suicide on New Year’s Eve. Chief Tim Barkell says 70-year-old Fredrick Hartwell shot his wife, 72-year-old Sandra Hartwell, and then shot himself.

A 2011 ZR1 Corvette will be raffled to raise money for the family of a Taylor police officer killed in the line of duty. Each ticket costs $ 100. Proceeds expected to reach $ 75,000 to $ 85,000 will be donated to the Matthew Edwards Trust Fund.
