If I am trying to raise funds for a charity and have a high priced item to raffle off, like a car or a Harley Davidson motorcycle, is it best to sell a lesser amount of higher priced tickets (say 500 at $100 each) or a greater amount of lesser priced tickets (say 1000 $50 tickets) ? Or is there a better alternative than either of these ? Thanks.

My wife and I recently won a brand new BMW in a raffle drawing. Although it is such a nice car and we are so blessed to have received it, we are a low income family trying to make it through school and it does not make sense for us to own such a lavish car.

I would like to know how to go about selling such a nice car, it doesn’t seem to smart to try to sell it on Craigslist, does it? I wouldn’t know, I’ve never dealt in such luxurious things. Thanks for the help in advance!

I heard of those people that sold raffle tickets to sell their home, well I NEED to sell my car fast and I am having no luck with Craigslist or Autotrader. My car is a 2003 Honda Accord LX with 117,000 miles on it. It has no mechanical problems and is in EXCELLENT condition, a carfax certified vehicle. I live in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and I was wondering how I would go about selling raffle tickets for the car? I was thinking I could charge about 20-25.00 per raffle ticket and then hold a drawing at the local mall or something in front of people so that they would know it was legit. How would I go about this, any advice? I still owe 8650.00 on the car and if I can get enough money to pay the loan off I can get the title from the bank and then transfer the title into whoever wins the raffle! I think it is a great idea because someone would end up getting a car for 20 bucks possibly and if I sell around 400 tickets I will have 8000 bucks and can pay the loan off! Advice?
